Where the world is moving towards globalization and breaking barriers of race, gender and religion, there is also an aspect of rising number of close minded racists filled with pride and prejudice. One such British man raised in prejudice attacked a Muslim passenger in a Metro Train for no good reason.

Mid-day on 17th October 2016, a British man approached the victim, a calm Muslim passenger on Metro. He then punched the victim aggressively as the train stopped at Upton Park.

The victim was seated in peace and was not creating any sort of trouble for anyone. He neither provoked nor responded back to the assaulter. He was left in shock and amazement by the attack to an extent that he did not even run to catch his attacker and question him.

A woman sitting next to the Muslim victim tried to get hold of the assaulter but he fled.
The woman of substance did not give up and chased the British attacker down the platform at the Upton Park station in London.

Fortunately, the attacker could not get away with his maltreatment. The woman caught him after a chase.

This whole incident was caught on camera by Assistant General Secretary of the Muslim Council of Britain, Miqdaad Versi, who later posted it over YouTube.

The video went viral as soon as it was posted. As expected, it was met great anger from the Muslim community as well as from every sensible human being.

Along the video, Versi wrote:

Apparent racist attack on London Underground @BTP: hope perpetrator is found and faces justice for this despicable unprovoke assault.

Amidst the anger and frustration, fingers are being pointed at the video as well. Some people have raised questions that why the video was made in the first place before things got violent and the man punched the other one.

After the woman chased the attacker, the bigot was handed over to the authorities.

British Transport Police affirms the assault on the Muslim passenger and that they have the attacker, a middle-aged British male, in custody for investigating the issue and bringing justice to the poor soul.

We are investigating an assault after a video was brought to our attention. The incident happened on a tube at Upton Park tube station at around 3.40pm on 17 October 2016.

said a spokesperson for British Transport Police, confirming that the notice for assault has been taken and the matter is being dealt seriously.

The police authority gave a statement on the arrest of the attacker saying

A 33-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning ABH and using threatening/abusive words/behaviour or disorderly behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress. He has been bailed until 14 November.

Incidents like these promote racism and intolerance among the community and instill fear and anxiety in the Muslims. Not only Muslims, but all minorities feel insecure in European countries because of similar events that have happened over the years, and they all demand equality.
