Indian affiliate of CNN Media House, NEWS 18 Global has broadcasted a fabricated interview featuring the fake SP Special Branch AJK Police, Ghulam Akbar and also the Inspector General of Punjab Police. The reporter of the said media group impersonated as the IG Punjab Police and the voice recording was claimed to be SP Ghulam Akbar, who allegedly affirmed the India’s surgical strike.

SP Ghulam Akbar, on the other hand, wasn’t even aware of the fact that his voice had been aired on the TV Channel, and categorically denied any phone calls or involvement in the interview. He made it clear that it wasn’t his voice and the entire story was forged. The news channel, being an affiliate of a well-known media house CNN, has deliberately made up such a bogus story to further worsen the situation between the two countries. This is just another one of those propagandas to isolate Pakistan, however, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs took notice of the matter and condemned the matter in a solid press release.

CNN News 18 Global Exclusive, an Indian affiliate of CNN International, has aired a forged interview of SP Special Branch AJK, Mr Ghulam Akbar, in which he has allegedly confirmed India’s surgical strike. The Reporter impersonated himself as Inspector General Police Punjab. SP Ghulam Akbar has categorically denied having spoken over phone and that it is not even his voice on the recording run by the said Indian TV channel. It is highly regrettable that the said Indian TV channel, affiliated to a world renowned media house CNN, indulged in an unethical and fraudulent act.

India has desperately been trying to prove its false claim of the surgical strike made by the Modi Government. Even the opponent political leaders have bashed the Modi Government about the false claims. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs further said that:

Pakistan strongly denounces Indian media’s despicable act of fraud of airing of a fake program aimed at twisting and fabricating stories for domestic political consumption. This is a clear indication that certain quarters in India are desperate to prove Indian false claim of surgical strike by hook or by crook.

CNN, being a world-renowned media house, must choose carefully its affiliates in order to keep up its good reputation worldwide. The statement also stated:

We hope that CNN would take up the matter very seriously with the affiliate Indian TV channel and initiate action against the channel, as not doing so will be regarded as directly owning to this unethical and manipulative act. We reserve the right to take necessary legal action against the said TV channel.

The phony news channel is still adamant that SP Ghulam Akbar said the afore mentioned in the interview, which according to them was totally legit. The news is hitting the internet in India, saying that ‘Pakistan claims the interview to be forged’ and stories like that. Whatever the Indian media tries to prove the alleged surgical strikes, Pakistan government is firm on its stance, thereby the crooked media houses have turned to forgery and propaganda.
